Every time I use ChatGPT for email drafts it sounds like a corporate newsletter. I have tried different prompts but it still feels generic. How do you get it to sound like a human actually wrote it?

I paste three of my best emails into the prompt first and ask it to match the tone. Without examples it defaults to business speak. With examples it gets surprisingly close

I tell it to write like a friend explaining something over coffee. That one instruction changes everything. Corporate tone comes from corporate prompts.

I use it for structure only. The opening hook and the closing call to action. I write the middle myself. That way it sounds like me even if the AI helped with the framework

If it sounds robotic, your input is robotic. Most people ask for a professional email and wonder why it sounds like a press release. Ask for a casual message to a colleague and see what happens.

I usually tell it to avoid corporate tone and then I rewrite a bit myself. The trick is treating it like a rough draft, not a final email. That’s what makes it sound human.
