When someone is handling multiple big projects along with teaching and other duties, how do they still manage time for personal life? If weekends are off, what does a normal weekday schedule look like? Most time goes into meetings with students and collaborators, leaving little space for focused work like writing or deep thinking. How do people reduce meetings and protect time for real deep work?

Deep work is something you really have to fight for in a busy academic or professional environment. If you don’t consciously create boundaries, your entire day can easily get filled with meetings and leave no time for real thinking or creativity.
