I have tried Trello, Asana, Monday, Notion, and ClickUp. Each has strengths. Each has flaws. What do you actually use to manage client projects without spending more time managing than doing?

@HannahK The learning curve is the problem. I spent twenty hours setting up Notion. That is twenty hours I did not bill. For a solo freelancer, that is expensive. I use Trello. Ugly. Functional. Five-minute setup.

Notion. Because it is flexible. I can build a project tracker, content calendar, and client portal in one place. The learning curve is steep. But once it clicks, nothing else compares.

@Marcus Chen I had the same Notion experience. Switched to ClickUp. Pre-built templates. Took two hours to set up. Best compromise between power and speed.

@SamC @Marcus Chen @HannahK I am going to test ClickUp. Notion is too heavy for my needs. Trello is too light. ClickUp sounds like the middle path.

@DerekNoBS What features do you actually use? I am worried about over-engineering my project management. I just need task lists and deadlines.

@Jenna Torres Tasks, deadlines, and time tracking. Nothing else. If a tool does those three well, I do not need the rest. ClickUp does them. Trello needs integrations. Notion needs setup. ClickUp wins for my use case.
