From the outside, it seems like content creators grow fast..launching side businesses, getting brand deals, and even buying homes in a few years. Has anyone here actually tried it? Curious to know what it’s really like behind the scenes.

I run a small vlog channel with a few makeup videos as a hobby. I don’t get many views, but I enjoy filming and editing. I’m happy with my full time job, so I just keep this as something fun on the side.

YouTube full time seems great, but there’s a lot of survivorship bias. Even successful creators still work a lot. That’s why many build businesses or products as backup income instead of relying only on videos or sponsorships

I’m not really a content creator..my dog is a bit famous on Instagram. Most brand deals are spam or just free stuff, and real paid ones are rare. With my 9to 5 I stopped posting much. I still get some reel payments but views and followers dropped so I’ve lost interest. It’s a lot with a full time job.

A big factor is luck with the algorithm. That’s why many people don’t grow even after trying hard. Sometimes your content doesn’t getyhhh seen at all, and other times it suddenly goes viral, bringing a lot of attention and pressure

I’m honestly happy in my own little space and not stressing about posting all the time. It’s fun as a hobby, but with a full time job it can get pretty time consuming.
