How do you get your first 100 email subscribers

Featured Replies

I have been creating content for three months and I have 23 email subscribers. Twelve are family. How did you actually get your first 100 real subscribers? Not theory. Actual tactics that worked.

I did a free workshop on Zoom. 45 minutes of actual teaching. Promoted it in three Facebook groups where my ideal audience hung out. 80 people showed up. 60 joined my list. One workshop

I wrote a guest post for a newsletter with 10,000 subscribers. Took me six hours. Got 340 subscribers in one day. Leverage existing audiences instead of building from zero.

I offered a free audit to my LinkedIn connections. Ten people said yes. Eight became subscribers. Two became clients. Quality over quantity. Your first 100 do not need to be fast. They need to be right.

I ran a simple giveaway. A $50 Amazon card for one piece of feedback on my lead magnet. 200 entries. 150 joined my list. 40% opened my first email. Not glamorous but it worked.

@HannahK Workshops work until they don't. I did 6 workshops. First 3 got 80+ people. Last 3 got 12. Audience fatigue is real. Same format, same groups, diminishing returns. Now I only do workshops for warm audiences, not cold groups.

@DerekNoBS Same drop-off here. Fixed it by partnering with other hosts instead of promoting myself. Joint workshops = their audience + my content. Fresh eyes every time. Also moved from "free training" to "paid masterclass at $27." Filters for buyers, not freebie seekers

@HannahK @DerekNoBS This thread just changed my entire strategy. Dropping the free workshop plan. Going to try the guest post route first (Marcus_C's approach), then the paid masterclass. Will update on which one lands. Thank you all — genuinely.

My "content audit" revealed 23% of blog posts generated 78% of organic leads. I updated the top 5 and deleted the bottom 15. Traffic increased 12%.

I don't post daily. I post when I have something worth saying. Not every post is brilliant. But I am always there. Presence builds trust.
