Should I set up a website or just use social accounts?

Featured Replies

I am considering setting up a website to run alongside my YouTube/Rumble channel. I probably won't do it right away but I am just thinking of ideas.

So anyways, is this something worth doing in 2026? Or should I just stick to using places like Instagram, TikTok, and X to promote things?

I know a website seems appealing now but it wouldn't be of much use until you actually grow an audience. Even people with large followings have low traffic to their sites. Just focus on socials, that is the best way to reach people and it is free.

Yes, this. I was going to say the same thing. Websites for "people" are seldom used these days cause everyone just goes on social media. People will want to interact with you and see what you are up to without having to click through pages.

Use social media accounts. Build them up by replying to things, especially bigger accounts. For X, set your feed to "following" and "recent" and try to be one of the first people to make replies in things you think will get a lot of attention.

A website is still worth it in 2026, even if you start later. Social media brings traffic, but a website gives you control and long term stability. Best approach is both, start with socials and build the site when you’re ready.

I was thinking this too. If I build up my social accounts first, it can boost the traffic to my site and make it more worth it. Seems silly to spend the time and money on making one right now though.

I agree. Get your social accounts going. Make sure you get them to have a good follower base. Then you can announce your website right to your followers. You can also offer email newsletters tied to your website if it is something you will be updating with news.
