I guess I should ask if there are any other platforms like Craigslist other than maybe say Facebook marketplace or eBay. I believe those are the only two similar sites. I have an online business idea that involves a similar platform. However, it is for a specific niche. Basically it is a platform strictly for people who are into collections, gaming, and anime/manga. So things like LEGOs, Pokemon cards, Star Wars merch, old and new consoles, PC gaming parts, controllers, as well as things from popular anime franchises like DBZ, One Punch Man, etc. etc. My brother and I have been bouncing ideas off each other but I am not sure if this is something that could work or not.

OfferUp is one that comes to mind. It is an app. Not sure if you would count it but eBay as well. I don't know of a niche specific one that allows people to sell items though. You might have a good idea here. Just keep working with it.

The issue with doing something like this, is that it relies on in-person interactions. The reason it works for places like Gamestop and Bricks and Minifigs is because it offers a safe and secure location to sell used items and collectibles. You would have to convince people to want to risk dealing with strangers. It is easier to do this on Facebook because all their details are there.

Niching down felt like cutting off my own arm. Then revenue doubled in four months. Fear was the only thing holding me back.
