I have 6 different websites. Without getting into the weeds and details of each one, I was successfully making a living off ad revenue from them. My traffic dropped substantially about 5 years ago and I have not been able to recover it. I have tried doing what other suggest in order to rank better on Google. Nothing stuck. I am wondering if maybe people using AI has hindered traffic to my sites? I don't know. I am at a loss. Has anyone else had this problem? Have you found a way to fix it?

Around 2021 my traffic just fell off a cliff. Never fully recovered tried everything people recommend new content, fixing old posts and building links. None of it worked like it used to.I think AI overviews are definitely taking some clicks but also Google just changed how it ranks stuff. Hard to say what the real reason is.What are your sites about? Some niches got wrecked worse than others. Might be worth pivoting instead of fighting the old game.

Google did some massive changes during the pandemic. I am not entire sure what they did but I have heard and seen many, many others reporting the same thing. What niche are your sites in? I t seems like certain ones got hit harder than others like James mentioned. I am not really sure how to fix this as I am struggling to build up traffic myself.

I have a number of sites and blogs. I have seen decline but I have also seen growth in the last 5 years. I am assuming this is based on the content you have. You can try updating it. Adding more context. Changing pictures on the pages if you use them. And combing through all your SEO on the back end.

I am trying to figure that out myself. I have been trying for years. I don't want to give up on my sites and just let the domains go but I feel like, at this point, I probably would have been better off starting over fresh or something. I am still considering that.

I have tried updating the images and videos, changed SEO on the back end for everything making sure everything had descriptions. I have tried redoing entire pages. I have tried sharing them on every social platform there is. It just seems like my site is intentionally being blocked or something. Or the traffic I was getting in the first place wasn't even real?
