Every guru says niche down. But I see generalists making millions and specialists struggling. Is niching actually the only path or is it just advice that sounds good in theory?

I niched down and revenue tripled. But I was already making some money as a generalist. Niching accelerated what was working. It did not create something from nothing.

Niching is necessary for marketing efficiency. Not for capability. You can serve broadly but you must market narrowly. The niche is who you talk to, not who you can help.

I stayed general for five years. Made good money. Niched last year and made more with less effort. The difference was messaging clarity, not skill improvement.
