Has AI impacted your freelance work?

Featured Replies

I noticed in the last few years I have had a sharp decline in clients. I was once working with 5 to 10 people at any given time and now I am down to only having 2 regulars and and extra person every now and then. It sucks because I know my work is good and people are always satisfied with it. But I guess free is better and people would rather just us AI to generate the content.

One of the things I offered was product descriptions. I don't have any clients for that anymore at all. I know this has to do with AI but I can't compete with it. You can't really compete with something that is free!

Has anyone else noticed AI impacting their freelance work?

AI seems to have helped with video creation. I am not sure how some of these AI created videos are getting so much attention on YouTube. A lot of it is honestly not great. Some of it is just an AI voice reading a basic news script and they have thousands of views and subs.

Yes and no. I think a lot of people can and do look to AI to save costs but plenty of people still want real and authentic writing and creative work done by people. I know because I am in this business.

Yes and no. I think people most impacted are artists and writers. A lot of people that used to outsource for things like descriptions and articles rely on AI more now. I don't think this is a good thing. I noticed people tend to figure out AI is writing the content and shy away from it.

I’ve seen the same especially in product descriptions. AI took over basic work, but clients still need human tone and quality. It’s more about upgrading your skills than competing with AI
