As I mentioned in my introduction thread, I have a number of social accounts that have good followings. My top is my X account and my Instagram account.

I know people earn good money through popular accounts but how do I actually go about doing this myself? Does anyone have any good tips or advise for me? I want to do this right the first time without damaging my rep and losing followers.

Brand partnerships and sponsored content are the best things to look into. You can reach out to people/companies but a lot of times you will end up getting them approaching you if you have your DMs open or allow for a contact e-mail. I would attach a contact e-mail to your profiles. You'd be surprised by how many brands and companies will ask you to do posting for them.

You really want companies to come to you, don't go looking for them.

In most cases, they will see your follower counts and send you messages. You likely have already had dozens try to contact you without knowing it. I had this happen with 2 of my socials. I had no idea because I seldom checked the e-mails associated with them.

So don't reach out but make myself more available on my accounts? I guess that could work. I would imagine most people get approached anyways. It isn't like a blog or anything of the sort, social media is a lot different. Thanks guys!

I had an account on Instagram blow up over night a few years back. I probably had 2 or 3 companies reaching out to me a month asking for branding deals. If you give access for people to contact you, they will because they want that reach. This is especially true on platforms like Instagram, X, and TikTok.

You can reach out but it depends on the company. Like I said, usually if you give an avenue for businesses to contact you, they will. This is assuming your social account has a big following and a lot of interactions.

I measure success by whether I can take Wednesday off without panic. Some weeks yes. Some weeks no. Trending upward.

Oh okay, right. So is there a way for me to check to see if any of my accounts would actually be appealing to companies?

Also, I believe I had all DMs turned off or blocked so people couldn't DM me unless I followed them. I should probably open those up!

Use AI. You can ask ChatGPT or use the built in features like Grok on X. They can give you a summary and compare your accounts to others that earn, so you get an idea of where you stand.

How big is your IG account? I am looking to grow mine and am struggling here. I have been out of the loop for awhile. My Twitter/X is doing fine. I tried Bluesky but I don't really like the platform so stopped using it.

I didn't know it could do that. I am going to have to give it a try! I think it will probably tell me I need premium though for a feature like this.

In terms of what? Followers? It has 37k followers. My X account on the other hand has over 50k. Sadly that one doesn't get as many interactions or likes which makes me think a lot of bots follow me on that platform.

Yeah, I agree about using AI. I didn't even think of that tbh but it would make sense that it could help analyze your accounts for you. People use to pay to have this done but AI can easily do it for free and with less time.

If you have the basic level of verification, you should get all the features I think but some of them are still free even without being verified or whatever you call it these days on the platform. Have you tried it yet?

Yeah I meant followers. That is a good size account, both are. I have heard of people on X saying they have larger followings but don't seem to get the interactions to reflect that.

Yeah I am messing around with it more now. Grok specifically. I mentioned in another thread that it will give me information but prompt me to upgrade to access more.

I gotta still check out ChatGPT more. I made an account for it but haven't had much time to play around with it.

The good thing about ChatGPT is you can keep your work organized and separate with the AI system. You can also download anything you want to save that might be useful.
