  1. A 5-day challenge that requires daily action. not passive consumption. the completion rate is low but the conversion to paid is 40%. quality over quantity.
  2. Removed all countdown timers and scarcity tactics. replaced with "enrollment closes on this date because i need time to prepare." honest urgency converts better than fake urgency.
  3. Honestly i still haven't raised my prices and i've been at this for four years. every time i try i panic and chicken out. reading these replies is giving me courage tho. maybe this month. maybe. no promises lol.
  4. i change the format, not the content. blog post becomes a twitter thread becomes a linkedin carousel becomes an email. same idea, different container.
  5. Worst free work i ever did was for my cousin's startup. he treated me like an employee, not a favor. asked for 12 revisions. on free work. FAMILY and free don't mix y'all. learned that the hard way.
  6. Tried value-based pricing once and felt like a complete fraud quoting $2k for something that took me two days. client said yes immediately and then i spent three weeks wondering if i should've asked for $5k. the imposter syndrome is real y'all.
  7. Having one day a week where nobody can reach me and the world doesn't end. that's it. that's my definition. autonomy over availability.
  8. I asked my list directly: more or less? 70% said more. i was the bottleneck, not their interest. ask your audience instead of guessing.
  9. Turned jealousy into curiosity. messaged someone i envied and asked how they did it. turned into a mentorship. most people are generous if you approach with genuine curiosity.
  10. Had a client who treated every project like an all-you-can-eat buffet. i started quoting in phases instead of one big lump. suddenly he was VERY clear about what he actually needed. phase two became optional real quick lol.
  11. I never fit. always questioned processes, always suggested changes, always got labeled difficult. turns out i was just entrepreneurial in the wrong building. took me five years to figure that out.
  12. Would have started an email list on day one. even if it was just my mom and three friends. compound interest applies to audiences too and i wasted two years figuring that out.
  13. Had a client demand a refund because they changed their mind. policy said no. they disputed the charge. i won but it took six hours of my life i'll never get back. now i have a "satisfaction conversation" clause instead.
  14. Long case studies. Not testimonials. Full breakdowns of how we solved a specific problem. These convert at 8x my other content because they prove expertise before the sales call.
  15. The real laptop lifestyle is working in sweatpants from your kitchen table. The exotic locations are just vacation photos with a laptop in frame.
  16. I gave a nightmare client THREE chances with clear feedback each time. she agreed to everything and broke it within a week every time. third strike i referred her to someone else (sorry not sorry). she actually thanked me later. boundaries create respect who knew.
  17. "hire slow, fire fast." sounds smart but in practice means you keep terrible people too long because you're "being careful." hire fast with clear probation, fire fast when it's wrong.
  18. I now include package customization as an upsell. Want something different? There's a fee for that. Turns out most people don't want it that badly.
  19. I got laid off. Best thing that ever happened. Sometimes the universe makes the decision for you and all you have to do is say thank you.
  20. My podcast is not about growth. it's about depth. 50 loyal listeners who buy is better than 5,000 casual ones who don't. redefine success before you start.
  21. track "content-assisted conversions." not first-touch or last-touch, but any touch. my blog post from 2020 still brings people in. attribution windows are too short.
  22. Spent a month in lisbon working from cafes. the coffee was great. the wifi was not. i got more done in my boring apartment at home than any exotic location. routine has value.
  23. Video testimonials from clients. not polished, just them talking about results. i post one per month and they outperform everything else. social proof is the ultimate format.
  24. The phrase happy to add that, let me check my availability buys me time to price it properly instead of saying yes in the moment.
  25. I am adding an AI disclosure clause to my contracts. Not optional. Standard language. Protects everyone.
