How often do you run sales to encourage purchases?

Featured Replies

For people that offer products or services, how often do you have sales in an attempt to get more people to spend their money?

It seems like most companies run sales all the time now but they just pick and choose different items in which to put on sale. I seldom see an online store without sales or deals happening.

I offer services so I don't run sales ever. I keep set prices. I will offer discounts for repeat customers if they need a bit of budgeting help but that is about all I do.

I know I could offer sales but with my services in decline because of AI, I honestly can't afford it.

I have done sales in the past and they can boost things but I find that you need to actually have an established business or products for them to matter more. If you don't have many people showing up to buy your products or services, you just end up losing money.

I do sales for the main seasons. So I do a Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter sale. This way I get to pick the periods I want and people shopping for the holidays that fall around it can make it work. I think this is better than doing specific holidays.

I am in the early stages but I intend to do some holiday sales. I guess between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I think everyone does sales around that time even if they don't do them any other time of the year.

This tends to be the best approach so you hit all the holidays without actually relying on them. Some businesses do a sale for every little holiday and it ends up becoming annoying, especially when people are getting emails almost weekly about holiday specials lol

Sales don't always encourage people to spend money. I think the timing has to be right. It works great for clothing and things of that nature but for things that fall under services and gift-able items, doing it around holidays is a good incentive for people.
