The most I have ever personally spent was $200 a year. Yes, that is a lot and more than most are willing to spend but it was a domain I had already had for years and the value of it was going up every few years. I eventually let it go and wish I hadn't as it ended up selling for $5,900 in 2019. I let it go in 2014.

I agree about making an Etsy account and selling them there first. Etsy will promote it for you as well for free but if you wanted to boost it, there are paid options on there too which could come in handy for you.

There are places to buy e-mails online but I am not sure how legit it is or not. You are basically paying to gain access to e-mails that may or may not still be being used. I never tried it and it sort of skirts the line of acceptable and unacceptable practices IMO.

God of Prompt is the only one I know of. It is opensource and I discovered it via YouTube. Someone I watch weekly mentioned it and used it during a video and I found it to be rather useful, especially considering it is free to use. Twitch is more controlled territory. They have very strict guidelines and because of the moderation teams in charge, they will abuse their powers if they deem you to be a certain way politically. Even if your content is not political at all. So there is always a risk there for that. And they also are heavy on censorship. Kick is a bit more forgiving. They won't punish you over politics and they allow for more "outrageous" content but you can still face suspensions and punishment for something you may have show, said, or what your chat has said even if it was by mistake. One you didn't mention was Rumble. That is the most forgiving and they don't censor a whole lot. I would say it has the least risk but it also has the least reward. It might be worth building up a community on Twitch and streaming to both other platforms.

There is always going to be avenues of passive income online. It is just a matter of finding what works and what you are most interested in. If you don't like what you do, no amount of possible profits will keep you perusing it. You will become bored of it and abandon it.

Considering they are trying to compete with YouTube, TikTok, and the like I would assume so. They want to have a platform for people to share videos, ideas, pictures and so on and be rewarded for it. So whatever content people are most drawn to likely pays the most. It has the most eyes on it and the most searches for it.

I think it was far easier to grow an Instagram account back in the earlier days of the platform than it is now. A lot of people just do it as a means to get sponsorships cause that is where the real money is. But since everyone is trying it, everyone is all using the same tricks and they just don't work like they once did. So I am not sure what works anymore.

This is the main reason people want it as well, it just doesn't do that. It used to be useful for new sites but I don't even think it helps all that much with those either. I am sure there are some use cases for it but this isn't one of them, at least not anymore.

It has been a bit since I messed with YouTube but I found that making content between 4 and 10 minutes and uploading once or twice a week seemed to do do the best. When I saw once or twice a week, I meant spacing videos out every 3 or 4 days.

You can just edit this yourself if you have the patience for it. I have done so using Gimp. You just create layers and then put them as an overlay on your videos in order. It is obviously more time consuming but this is how people used to do it before AI did it. That or they used manual programs but you still needed to do editing.

A friend of mine uses Reddit for this, believe it or not. There are two subreddits he follows daily. He doesn't use Reddit for anything else. Both r/MachineLearning or r/LocalLLaMA cover all the latest news and updates from around the world.

If you know what you are doing, yes. Absolutely. I still prefer to hire people for stuff like this because nothing beats a human's eye or touch when it comes to graphic work. You can still tell when something is AI generated. At least I can.

I have been there. It can be really hard and frustrating when you see what works on and for other sites and even when you do your best, Google still ignores your site or outright deranks it.

It was probably a bit of both. A lot things changed after COVID don't forget. Tons of people were suddenly working from home and then when people were called back to work, a lot of those online/remote jobs disappeared after that.

I think they were bought out. I did see some negative stuff about the company but most people seemed to be happy with it. So I am not entirely sure what happened. It is gone now though and part of that other platform.

That would make sense. But views can be easily manipulated unless they have a way of separating that, got the bots and AI that scrapes the internet always increases views.

I have come to understand that no matter how good the content is, if a website or brand/company with more authority decides to talk about your topic, you will get deranked. Same with selling services. More localized ones are safe that function on and offline.

I gave this a go for a bit and didn't earn much of anything. I have seen others that get about the same amount of likes and replies as I was earning substantially more. I find it is very niche selective. That place seems to prioritize politics and news.

If you use AI as a tool that supplements the work you do, then no. If you use AI as a means to provide a service i.e. what you are selling is mostly being done by AI models and you are just the middle-man, then yes you should make sure clients know.

Honestly, it comes down to authority. Sites that have long-standing authority will always outrank you. Even if you content is good and your information is trustworthy (if you provide any), it doesn't matter. The trouble with this is that I believe a lot of the "authoritative sites" end up pulling from smaller, less known ones for content the second they see it getting boosted. Doesn't matter the niche or topic. I have had it happen to me. I was ranking number 1 on Google for a few things and both got overtaken within 3 months by "authoritative" websites.

Well, yeah. Ads are not needed to grow a website. You don't need to pull people into it but it does help. I would say that if you are going to run ads for your website, focus them on platforms like Facebook that allow you to target in on your niche.

To be fair, low-skilled work online was already hard to come by. Unless people were focused on click farming and things of that nature. Like taking surveys and that. Stuff that didn't pay much of anything.

I really didn't think of being more specific with what internet provider I use. Using a VPS over an ISP seems to make sense from where I am. I will have to look into this a bit more. That is interesting. I always see and hear of hosts boasting about less downtime but then you talk to people that self-host and it seems to be a lot of the opposite!

CJ is commission based. It can be as good as 50% or as low/bad as 3% but if the product/service is more expensive, 3% could still be a lot. ShareASale seems to have shut down and was moved over to Awin platform. I don't know much about them.
