  1. This is true. Don't just stop with surveys and polls though. If you have a shop, integrate some chances of winning discounts with animated wheels or other games if you can. Those always get a good high click rate. A lot of online businesses do this sort of lottery style discount thing now because it works.
  2. WordPress, as far as I know, still ranks better than Webflow and Squarespace but Squarespace is a lot easier to work with. I don't have much experience with Webflow to tell you about it but I have played around with Squarespace and overall, I found it way less time consuming to get a website up and running.
  3. I don't see a lot of people talking about this. I am sure some people here have experience with tracking traffic and understanding what helps rank better on Google. What are some lessons you learned doing this? Are there truly right and wrong ways to go about building up traffic to your website or is it just all luck?
  4. Freelancing has a lot of avenues. The more niche you can be with your work, the better able you will be able to find a client base. Do you have an sort of ideas on what the main focus will be fore your work?
  5. This one always stings. When I started taking in some money on the side online, I realized that I was going to have to track everything and account for every penny. If I didn't know what I earned, I risked being overtaxed and possibly owing the IRS money.
  6. So I have another question... Is it common for videos to get views and then they be removed? I did a test run and one of the videos I uploaded 5 days ago got up to 30 views but it has since been cut back to 17. I don't understand what happened.
  7. Thanks guys. I am going to make a plan for this all this weekend. I actually have 2 extra days off. I got one given to me for the 4th of July and took an extra day. I want to get all this sorted and get to work.
  8. Tried 10 AI tools. Kept 2. The rest were solutions looking for problems. Be ruthless with your tool stack.
  9. My "quick 5-minute favor" used to cost me 2 hours. Now I have a rate for everything. Boundaries = profit.
  10. I guess I should give Facebook another go then. It isn't like I have anything well known online. It is mostly localized which doesn't help. I may as well, right? I will see what is available today and make an X account for it. I am considering a rebrand of the name though so I have to decide on that first.
  11. Yeah that is unfortunately what I saw too. I guess I probably should have started this a few years ago when I thought of it lol I will keep this in mind, thank you! That is unfortunate. I mean I have my goals but I guess being more realistic about them would be a better approach.
  12. Blogging can still earn you money, I know some people who still do it. I will tell you though, I have had a few successful blogs that fell off a cliff in 2018/2019. I think this was when Google did a massive search engine shift. My monthly traffic for both blogs went from 100k+ down to 20k in just 6 months. It continued to drop and by 2022 both blogs were completely dead. It soured me so much I haven't even considered trying another blog again.
  13. I used X back when it was Twitter for awhile. I stopped using it around 2015 I think it was because it was becoming too political. I moved over to Facebook as a means to talk to people online as well as for business purposes. I was able to get a small successful business built off a Facebook page but after Covid hit, it tanked. I stopped bringing in revenue through it. I am not sure if I should continue with Facebook for future plans or try X. I heard you can earn revenue on the platform as well which would be helpful.
  14. I work with a friend from time to time that runs his own business. He doesn't need to hire me outright but he does hire me when the load gets to be too much for him. It is basically contract work and I don't mind it at all. Maybe that is something you could explore to help you see how much extra help you'd need? Just offer a 2 or 3 months contract?
  15. I know YouTube has changed a lot over the years. It was once a space where people just uploaded videos as a hobby, then it turned into a career or business, now it is a bit of both but it seems much harder to actually start a YouTube channel that earns. I have a few ideas for channels I think could do well. I am not looking to become rich or anything but have passive income via my channel. I know you need to get a certain amount of subscribers and views before you qualify to become a partner. What else should I know heading into this?
  16. How's it going everyone? I have been on the hunt for a forum that focuses on entrepreneurial work since my main focus and goal is to make a living online. I know it is a dream for many but I am hoping to achieve my goal in 5 years or less. I have some ideas, plans, and a few different approaches I will try. I know AI has made it a bit harder but I am really hoping something sticks! I am looking forward to bouncing off some ideas with the community, getting feedback, learning new things, and making some friends along the way :)
